Lithia resident, Jodi Stone, is realizing another dream come true. Besides managing her household with her three daughters, being a wife, working full-time and recently finishing her creative writing degree at USF, she also managed to find time to write a much-anticipated children?s book.
Writing is no stranger to Stone. She has published several children?s books in the past, and what sets her apart is she also illustrates. In addition, her books were recently picked up by a new publisher, Anchor Publishing, where they have set her writing career further in motion. Stone?s stories are all inspired by her family. ?My three daughters and husband provide me the laughter, love and daily inspiration for my writing,? said Stone
Her new book, Savannah?s Story, was released in October. ?The inspiration for this book came on a day when my youngest daughter, Savannah, was sulking over her sisters not wanting to play with her. So she went to her beloved dollhouse, and started talking to it and her dolls,? said Stone. ?It was so sweet and one of those moments where a story came to life.?
This wonderful rhyming book takes the reader on a magical journey with Savannah inside her dollhouse, as she experiences unexpected surprises along the way including floating on a cloud of bubbles. During her adventures, Savannah realizes the true meaning of friendship and family. This book is geared towards children ages 4-8 and is available in bookstores and on Amazon.com.
With her imagination in full-gear, Stone is already working on her next book with an Easter-theme which will be on schedule for publishing in the spring. Some of her past books include Princess Stories and A Christmas Princess.
Stone is planning on an upcoming book signing at Barnes and Noble in Brandon. If your school, library or group would like for her to speak, share more about her books and illustrations, or sign copies, contact Stone at stone3snuggles@netzero.net. To purchase a copy of any of her books, visit www.amazon.com or visit any local bookstore.
